Fall Home Tour

Updated: Aug 17, 2022

Hey friends!! Fall has arrived at The Blooming Nest… at least on the inside ha! It’s still at least 90 degrees here in Houston, but we’re going to pretend it’s cooling off out there either way. I am so excited to share my Fall Home Tour with you! I’ve been slowly adding cozy, simple and affordable touches to make our home ready for the season change. After an extremely hot Texas Summer, I am definitely ready for sweaters, pumpkin bread (yes, I said bread and not “spice latte”… am I the only one that doesn’t like those? haha!) and cooler weather. I’ll share how I kept my Fall decor simple and affordable along the way!

You will notice throughout the tour that I added a few little sprigs into my eucalyptus that I keep out year round. This was a super affordable way for me to add a touch of Fall without having to completely change out my vases. I don’t love storing a bunch of Fall decor so I like to find small ways to change or add to things that I already have out. I found those two wicker pumpkins at Homegoods and could not pass them up.

I didn’t do a lot of fall themed decor this year, mostly just removed some of the color I had out during the Summer, like my blush pink bookends and throw pillows. Fall, to me, is full of warm neutrals so that’s what I tried to highlight! I added two cute candlesticks and a pumpkin to my favorite chippy bookshelf.

I threw a blanket over the couch, added a cozy lamp and little white pumpkin and called it a day 😉

When it came to our master bedroom, all it took was adding a new throw pillow to the bed! I love this beautiful genuine leather lumbar from Loom to Linen! Doesn’t it create such a warm cozy vibe?

If you want an easy, affordable way to decorate for every season, you should get a large chalkboard!! You can draw something simple or write a quote and instantly your home will feel more festive. This is one of my favorite spaces to decorate for each season change. (You can read about how I made my XL chalkboard here. Since this post my husband built me a new frame for it.)

We recently added this custom vent hood and open shelving to our kitchen, and I had so much fun styling them for Fall! (You can read all about our small kitchen update here.) I added a couple pumpkins and a free art print I found here!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope it is cooling off a little where you are!
